The life of a château?
This château/fort from the 14th century has served as a home for many important people from French history who each progressively transformed it into a decorative residence which was acquired by Louis XVI in 1783.
This former royal domain is today a presidential home which periodically hosts different Heads of State when they are invited to France. The interior decoration is stunning and included a marble hall, beautiful oak furniture from the 18th century and decors done in the Neo-Pompei style of the 1st Empire. It is surrounded by a French garden, canals and six beautiful little islands.
