Royal Architecture.

The Château de Versailles is a masterpiece of French architecture that was constructed under the reign of Louis XIV. Two different chateaux are in fact open to visitors: the old château, whose construction was started by Louis XIII, includes the famous marble tower; the new château however was built 50 years later and houses the royal apartments.

Visitors are also welcome to explore the Trianon which was the residence of the royal concubines and secret mistresses. The French-style formal garden surrounding the palace, designed by André Le Nôtre himself, is a marvel in itself.

The whole chateau complex is a truly magical place: from the stunning tapestries and beautifully detailed four poster beds to the neatly hedged avenues, sumptuous fountains and expansive lawns: come and lose yourself in the royal splendour of Versailles.
